Saint Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland. He was a Christian missionary who converted Ireland from paganism. He lived from the late 4th century A.D. to the mid 5th century A.D.

The legend says that St. Patrick miraculously drove snakes from Ireland by banging a drum.

March 17th is the anniversary of the death of Saint Patrick. In Ireland, St. Patrick's Day is a holy, religious time with praying, singing and dancing, and they celebrate it with a big parade.

You can watch last year's Parade in Dublin here:

Do you like it? Do we have a similar festival here in Cádiz?

  1. Spectacular. We haven´t got any similar festival in Cádiz (Carnival, of course, but no religious). Well, maybe we´ve got a religious big parade:The proccesion in the Holy week...
    Although,it isn´t so happy.
